New “Free” Artist Accounts Available

March 2, 2010 · No Comments

Fresh off our first artist signing and after a month of testing and feedback, we’ve integrated free profiles into the site logic on iCraftSingles.com. So now you can create an artist account and play round with site features without dabbling in any payment structure.

Afterwards, you can then upgrade to a feature-rich premium account at any time!

We’d like to thank all the “ghost-testers” out there who tested the site and helped us maximize ease of use and the fine tuning of site functionality.  Now let’s get some real artists in there to let us know what the real deal is.

First Artist signs to iCraftSingles.com, Jon Boi “Crafts Singles”

March 1, 2010 · No Comments

We are happy to announce that iCraftSingles has signed up its first artist!

Jon Boi is an unsigned Hip-Hop artist hailing from Killeen, TX, by way of Bryan, TX.  Some of his major shows include openings for Ginuwine, Chalie Boy, Lil Flip, GS Boyz, Big Tuck and Swisha House. With a smooth southern timbre, Jon Boi’s versatile delivery means he can be high energy or laid back, allowing him to cater to a wide array of instrumental styles.

So check out his slices, leave him some comments, rate his music and expect more great things to come!

YouTube Video Import – Coming in January 2010

January 7, 2010 · No Comments

youtube-logoOne of the things that we were most disappointed by during the development phase of iCraftSingles.com, was the inability to conveniently allow our artist members the ability to upload video of varying file formats and have those videos “automagically” converted into the required format for Web play (i.e. like YoutTube does). However, we have found a workaround that should not only satisfy multi-format video upload and conversion on icraftsingles.com, but also help iCS music artists extend their social networking base.  In January 2010, we will be adding the ability to import (or link) your YouTube videos to your iCS Slices (via the video’s YouTube id)!  Why is this so important and groundbreaking for us?  Glad you asked:

  1. Being able to indirectly harness the resources of quite arguably the best video hosting service on the web, YouTube, is great!
    1. While we would love to be able to convert 10+ different video formats, allow for 2GB files size uploads, and HD video, its simply not feasible for us and our server space/configuration at the moment.
  2. All music artists with music videos should have YouTube Profile anyway!  If you don’t, you are behind the times.
    1. As a music artist, having a YouTube account is a no-brainer. If you have a Twitter page and Facebook, both can “automagically” be connected to your YouTube profile and will update whenever you post a new video.  So in a sense, YouTube can be the “online video hub” of your social networking campaign, regardless if you are an unsigned, indie, or major label artist.

Check back later this month for the update!

Using the iCS Boards – iCraftsingles.com Music Artist Directory

January 7, 2010 · No Comments

Here’s a quick video tutorial on how to use the iCS Boards on iCraftSingles.com.  The iCS Boards are what we consider the “meat & potatoes” of iCS.  Simple, but with the ability to get complex, refined, but very flexible, the iCS Boards can give you a quick snapshot of the music artists featured on iCS, but also allow you to get down to the “nitty-gritty,” so to speak, and really dig through slices based on numerous criteria. What’s even better is that the criteria fields & filtering/search methods can be used collectively or individually to return search results!

We are always looking for ways to add functionality to the boards and already have a couple of things planned for the very near future…so keep it N’effect!
